Aftercare
Lumi Eyes aftercare
Lumi Eyes is a polynucleotide skin booster for the delicate under-eye area. Polynucleotides are an ultra-purified form of DNA that hydrate and help regenerate the skin, softening dark circles, fine lines, crepiness and that tired, shadowed look. It improves the quality of the skin rather than adding volume like a filler.
Your treatment plan
- A course of 2–3 sessions, spaced around 3–4 weeks apart, gives the best results.
- Most people then keep things topped up with a maintenance session once or twice a year.
- Results build gradually over 2–3 weeks as the polynucleotides get to work, and typically last 6–12 months.
Before your appointment
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, fish oil and other blood thinners to reduce the risk of bruising — the under-eye area bruises easily.
- Be well hydrated and eat a meal before your appointment.
- Come with clean skin and, if possible, no eye makeup.
What to expect
Straight after treatment you'll usually see tiny raised bumps (blebs) at each injection point. These are completely normal and generally settle within a few hours to a day as the product absorbs.
Mild redness, swelling and tenderness around the eyes are common. Because the skin here is so delicate, small bruises can appear and may take up to a week to fade — Arnica cream can help. Any puffiness can take 24–48 hours to settle.
Sleeping propped up on a couple of pillows for the first night or two can help any swelling drain overnight.
Aftercare
- Leave the area alone — try not to rub, press or massage around the eyes.
- Avoid eye makeup for 24 hours to reduce the risk of infection.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours.
- Avoid blood-thinning medicines such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours, as they can worsen bruising (if these are prescribed by your GP, check before stopping them).
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming, sunbeds and extremes of heat for 48 hours.
- Keep skincare gentle for a day or two, and protect the area with SPF and sunglasses.
- Drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated.

Follow-up
Please attend any follow-up appointments, even if healing seems to be going perfectly. We'll check how your skin has responded and plan your next session. If anything in this aftercare is unclear, just ask.
