After your treatment
Aftercare
You’re in love with your new brows or lips — now let’s keep them flawless. Following your aftercare gives the best, longest-lasting results.
Every procedure is two sessions. Your initial appointment, then a top-up at 4–6 weeks to add any extra strokes or colour and finalise the result. The top-up is quicker, and attending is vital for the best outcome. SPMU lasts 12 months to 2 years — even longer with colour boosts.
The essentials, for everyone
- Do not pick or remove scabs — let them shed naturally, or you risk patchy colour and infection
- No blood thinners; if you need a painkiller, take paracetamol
- No saunas, hot tubs, sunbeds, steam rooms, or long hot showers and baths
- No hot, sweaty workouts for the first 4 days
- No swimming in pools, lakes or the ocean for the first week
- Apply the ointment provided with clean hands — lips moisturised, brows kept dry
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase
- No makeup on the area until fully healed (when the skin has peeled and feels smooth)
- Avoid direct sunlight — wear a hat until healed
For eyebrows
In addition to the essentials
- Keep brows dry until fully scabbed (at least 7 days); pat dry with a clean tissue if they get wet, no rubbing
- Apply a small amount of ointment twice a day — the scab should stay dry, not damp
- No hair removal in the area until fully healed
- On day 2 brows look bold and dark, and may shrink in size — this is normal
For lips
In addition to the essentials
- Swelling is normal and usually settles within 24–48 hours (sometimes far quicker)
- Lip neutralisation swells a little more and may need more than one top-up; lips can look darker while healing
- Avoid licking or wetting lips — pat dry after brushing teeth and drink through a straw
- Take care eating, especially spicy and citrus foods
- Apply ointment several times a day with clean hands to keep lips comfortable (not wet)
- Don’t pick flaking skin — it causes uneven colour and loss of pigment
- Once dry skin peels away naturally, colour looks light, then resurfaces about a week later
Lymph fluid
Alongside swelling, you may notice clear lymph fluid forming droplets that crystallise once dry. Gently blot it away with clean hands and a clean, dry tissue — never rub or pick. Plan your treatment before any special events, allowing time to heal.
The process
Heal, peel, fade
After day one the area heals, then peels and fades — completely normal. Colour begins to reappear around days 14–28, healing softer and more natural than it first looked.
